Italy’s anti-drug education initiative has exceeded over one million drug-prevention booklets distributed in recent weeks. The initiative forms part of the international Truth About Drugs education programme, which aims to provide factual education about commonly abused substances and their short- and long-term effects.
Approximately 500 volunteers are participating in the outreach effort, distributing materials in public spaces, shops and community areas. The campaign focuses on prevention through education, providing resources designed to explain the dangers of drugs in a understandable way.
The prevention effort is part of wider social programmes supported by the Church of Scientology, inspired by the work news euro cup of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard.
